Science Center

Wednesday Everlee and I went to the Science Center. We met up with the Smiths. I can't believe we stayed there for 3.5 hours! Everlee didn't want to leave after lunch. 

Everlee wanted to make a car and race it. I think she heard grampa k and grampa Greg talking christmas night. 

Grocery shopping at the Fareway store. Did you pick up a bottle of Deadeye?

On our drive back when I asked her what her favorite part of the science center was she told me, "the bubbles I popped with my tongue."

Christmas 2015

We enjoyed Christmas Eve at the Smiths home. Present opening was like being in the middle of a tornado. Watching the excitement unfold was priceless. 

After 19 years it's still fun to watch our son open gifts Christmas morning. 

Nancy made special Deadeye ornaments for Tyler and Micheal this year. She is very crafty and they turned out so cute!

Nothing else gets you in the holiday spirit like watching Elf after breakfast Christmas morning. 

So happy mom and dad were able to spend the night with us. The men made breakfast while the women sat. Now that's a Christmas gift;)

Christmas night we enjoyed supper at the Kneifl's. Tyler and Rich trying to get the lighting just right to showcase the meat and beans for Deadeye. It was fun to hear childhood stories from Andrea's dad. Apparently I wasn't the only teenage girl who knew more than their parents back in the 90s. Haha

Thank You

The Back Story: during Thanksgiving Andrea went to cut a banana and the knives blade fell out of the handle. 

Which brings us to yesterday. After nap, Everlee was super excited to show me a present, under the tree, with my name on it. It is a thank you gift for doing auntie daycare. I love it! I have already used it and it's so easy. 

There are so many reasons I enjoy spending time with this little redhead. My favorite is definitely our chats. I also enjoy getting to see Rich and Andrea on a weekly basis. I love our play dates with Hollie and Cooper. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to watch and participate in Everlee's development. I may not be very good at crafts but I make up for it in fun and laughter. 

Special Treat

On Tuesdays when I pick up Ev from preschool I bring her two special treats. She usually picks the sucker first and the chocolate  Bears second on the way to our next activity. Today we met the Smith and Petersens at the indoor playground. She enjoyed playing with the kids so much. By the end of our time she was yawning.  I have no photos because once she saw the kids I was minced meat ;). Which makes me enjoy our car rides and chats so much more. 

Relaxin'

We mixed it up today and had cartoon and snack downstairs. 

Then after nap we did more "wrap up a surprise and find it under the tree". This time with paper towels.

What's an aunt to do?

When Everlee wanted to dress up, pretend it was Christmas, and open the presents under the tree I had to come up with plan B. So...

I let her cut the wrapping paper,

Put a surprise inside and tape it,

Put the present under the tree and let her open the present!  She was really into it. 

So much so she wanted me to hide my eyes, wrap up a surprise herself and let me open it. 

Then my special treat was to wear this hat and watch 5 peppas...that's the deal! I'll take that deal Everlee!

Never a dull moment

These three cracked me up while they were playing in the ball area. I was just checking on them and Caden says "Do you want to take a picture of us? Everyone line up over here! Next to me! We're taking a picture." Ev and Cooper quickly followed his directions. You can definitely tell he's heard that once or twice from his mom, Missy. 

And just when I thought the day was gonna be tame for nap time, I wasn't able to see Ev in the monitor and couldn't hear anything. I panicked. So, I opened the door, bent down and saw Ev with her Anna and Elsa dolls napping UNDER the bed. She slept there for over two hours. Comfortable Ev?

...And that's my afternoon! Have I said I can't wait until another Kneifl baby is thrown into the craziness!

#Hateweek

After the ISU game last night Tyler set up his tent and is the FIRST tent in line camping out until the ISU vs Iowa game Thursday night. To show their appreciation Coach Prohm and a couple of the players brought pizza to their loyal fans today. It's another great season of ISU basketball!

Today after preschool we met up with Aunt Hollies group at the Indoor Playground for a play date. Everlee was so into playing with the kids and doing her own thing I barely saw her except when she needed a boost at the water fountain;)
